Signs of Self is a nonprofit 501(c)3 contracted through the Hawai`i Department of Human Services, Vocational Rehabilitation and Services for the Blind Division (VR). VR has long recognized the special needs of clients who have either a hearing or vision loss, or both, and has a commitment to serving these clients.

Signs of Self is an established agency in Hawai`i, serving the needs of people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, and/or deaf-blind. Staffed by trained professionals and community members, we will strive to always provide competent and responsible services to our clients.

At Signs of Self we believe that all individuals have the right to have as much say as possible in the direction of their own lives - regardless of individual ability. It is our goal to help our clients make the most of their lives.

Signs of Self is a registered nonprofit 501(c)3 organization.

All donations are welcomed and are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.  Payments can be made by securely by debit or credit card.  You don’t need to join PayPal to make a donation.  If you prefer to send a check, please see our contacts page for our mailing address.

Bed Bath & Beyond
Has continued to donate bedding and other household goods to us that we are able to give away for free to people who are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or deaf-blind.  Be sure to thank them next time you stop by Bed Bath and Beyond!

Car Wash Volunteers
We want to say MAHALO to everyone who helped out or donated to our fundraising car wash on April 14, 2012.  We not only raised money, but it brought people together - and fun was had by all!
